"What do I do with my wedding dress, now that I'm married?"

I get this question about repurposing a wedding dress frequently, and it's definitely a good one! Fair warning, this won't be the Pinterest version. There's loads of crafty ish on there that I just can't do, and thus it would be dishonest for me to present it as a bright idea. If you can do it, though, tag me in pics- I'd love to see!

  1. Donate- This one might seem a bit odd, but a lot of local thrift shops will take them. It's a tax write-off, you're providing a lovely gown to another person that will adore it, and you're raising money for a good cause. It's a hat-trick win!

  1. Get it shortened or dyed- Definitely go to the professionals for this one. It's a great way to wear your favorite dress again and again!

  1. Trash the Dress- This used to be for when women either didn't make it to the altar, or got divorced. Now, it's just a really fun way to do something with your dress, whether it's paintball, getting in a pool or the ocean, or even Painting with a Twist on the dress.

  1. Get it Preserved- put it in a shadow box like the expensive piece of art it is.

  2. Sell it- Lots of second-hand shops will buy it from you. Bear in mind that what you get for it, will likely not be close to the amount you originally paid for it.
